After graduating from Drake University School of Law and practicing law in Iowa, Matt moved to Kansas in 1991, and now focuses his practice in the areas of elder law, life care planning, estate planning, special needs trusts, and probate.  This work involves Matt in all aspects of the preparation and administration of wills, trusts, guardianships, and conservatorships.  However, much of his time is now spent helping the elderly and those with disabilities who need lifetime planning to assure the maximum, safe independence and quality of life.  Matt is licensed to practice in Kansas, Missouri, and Iowa, and, in addition to various bar associations, is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA) and the Life Care Planning Law Firms Association (LCPLFA).  His civic activities have involved numerous organizations including Kansas City Hospice & Palliative Care, American Red Cross, Haskell Indian Nations University, Civil Air Patrol, United Way, Small Business Administration, and the Kansas City Artists Coalition.  Typical of Matt, his philosophy of legal counseling is simple:  Educate, coordinate, and communicate.  He wants to educate clients about their options, coordinate efforts to implement their choices, and avoid problems through clear and regular communication.
